Look up in the sky it’s a bird, it’s a plane, no it’s TechNexus portfolio company, Edgybees closing a $9.5M Series A funding round led by Seraphim Capital.

Edgybees has significant traction in the first responder and defense ecosystem. The augmented reality and aerial video-based startup provides accurate geo-registration in real-time for public safety.

“Our mission is to ensure positive human outcomes during life-saving missions,” says Edgybees co-founder and CEO Adam Kaplan. “New partners will be key to continuing to push our mission forward.”

Edgybees was founded in 2016 and has seen steady growth throughout the years. The company positions itself as a real-time computing and advanced drone technology solution with a heavy emphasis on public safety and situational awareness. “Edgybees brings together the real and virtual worlds and helps first responders save lives, industrial drone users save money and defense teams get the mission done,” OurCrowd CEO Jon Medved explained.

Edgybees joins the TechNexus portfolio because it is well-aligned with our extensive experience in the public safety ecosystem. We’ve spent many years, investing, incubating, and accelerating collaboration between dozens of public safety ventures and public and private strategic partners.

The success of this round further reinforces the importance of augmented reality and the IoT especially as it relates to the future of fire service. As more first responders incorporate new technologies into their workflow, further expanding the ecosystem, the future looks bright for Edgybees.
