AssemblyAI, First Due named to Deloitte's list of fastest-growing tech firms

Two TechNexus Venture Collaborative portfolio companies were named to a list of the fastest growing technology companies in North America.

TechNexus-backed First Due and AssemblyAI landed on Deloitte’s 2025 Technology Fast 500 Rankings. Over three decades running, Deloitte Technology Fast 500 honors the fastest growing companies in North America. First Due’s all-in-one emergency software platform propelled the company to rank 115th, while AssemblyAI’s artificial intelligence voice technology ranked No. 122.

Identifying a strong need for innovation within emergency response systems, First Due found a way to maximize speed in an industry defined by time crunches. Outdated processes and disconnected technological infrastructures have overcomplicated a process that needs to be seamless. To combat this, First Due built an all encompassing software system that streamlines services across EMS, fire, and law enforcement. With over 3,000 clients across the U.S. and Canada, First Due has experienced exponential growth. First Due grew 788% from 2021 to 2024, and earlier this year raised $355 million in new funding.

AssemblyAI builds speech-to-text and speech understanding models that help voice AI companies launch products faster and scale with ease. TechNexus was an early investor in AssemblyAI, having first invested in 2019.

Since this investment, AssemblyAI has worked to eliminate “garbage in, garbage out” with its accurate and efficient speech abilities aimed to promote product experience. With the industry’s lowest Word Error Rate and 30% fewer hallucinations than competitors, AssemblyAI provides industry leading capabilities. Beyond just simple transcription, these algorithms offer a full suite of speech capabilities, including speaker identification, automatic alphanumeric and text formatting, and language detection for multilingual speech.

AssemblyAI grew 713% from 2021 to 2024, according to Deloitte.

Additionally, AssemblyAI was recognized in Accel’s 2025 US AI 100 list of top artificial intelligence companies valued under $1 billion. The report set out to identify how AI is changing the global economy, and which companies are rising to the top.

Within a constantly evolving technological environment, TechNexus portfolio companies are pushing the bounds of creativity and delivering revolutionary breakthroughs, further emphasizing the power of corporate-startup collaborations that TechNexus drives.
